Consultancy

We work with other organisations to help them to imagine new programmes, access funding, bring together partnerships, and commission artists. We can offer creative consultation, strategy, curatorial, fundraising and development support.

Our consultancy work is delivered as a social business, and seed funds new ideas, support artists and helps us to develop new work with communities.

People we’ve worked with include The Turnpike, Heart of Glass, Granby Workshop, Assemble, Tameside Council, Bluecoat, Helix Arts, City of York Council and MAKE Liverpool.

House of Annetta

The stark class and race inequalities in the UK are underpinned by who has access to wealth, land and property, and the privileges that divide us have only been heightened since the covid-19 pandemic. Working closely with Assemble, we are leading an ambitious fundraising strategy to fund the development of the House of Annetta — a social centre, research platform and resource for those committed to land rights and housing justice in the UK.

The People's Powerhouse

For the last two years, we have been commissioned by The People’s Powerhouse to produce the arts programme for their annual convention, aiming to give people and communities in the North a greater say about the direction of their region. We brought together some of the North’s most brilliant artists and organisations to represent the arts in conversations about the future of the North, alongside policy and decision-makers.

Manchester Craft and Design Centre

We have been commissioned to reimagine Manchester Design and Craft Centre’s practice and purpose as a meeting point between cutting-edge creative practice, social making, community participation, and diverse cultures. Building on their strong heritage, we will work closely with their Board, staff, and resident artists to revisit their drivers and become more financially resilient, reflective of Manchester’s vibrant cultures, and environmentally sustainable.

Activating the Turnpike

Working closely with Director Helen Stalker, the gallery team, the Leigh community, and artists, we played a role in shaping a new direction for The Turnpike, as an artist-led testing ground — a place of healing, learning and creative exchange, that operates beyond its walls and throughout the town.

Granby Winter Garden

Granby Winter Garden is a unique resource for community building, creativity, cultural production and exchange: a place for neighbours to meet each other, to work and learn together, to welcome visitors and occasions.

The Cap and Dove

We were invited to support GM Arts to develop an artistic programme as a legacy from 2019’s Peterloo bi-centenary. We worked with the 10 local authorities of Greater Manchester to develop a collective approach to commissioning that would enable ambition, engagement and artists’ development.

Fire Within: Wigan Cultural Strategy

Through 2018 we worked with artists. communities, arts organisations and Wigan council develop a new cultural strategy for Wigan Borough. Drawing on local heritage, the strategy brought together the Borough’s incredible cultural offer under five key curatorial themes, to act as a framework for development of audiences, impact, arts practice and infrastructure.

Formby

We are lead artistic partner with the National Trust for contemporary art commissioning in the extraordinary landscape at Formby.
