The People’s Powerhouse

For the last two years, we have been commissioned by The People’s Powerhouse to produce the arts programme for their annual convention, aiming to give people and communities in the North a greater say about the direction of their region. We brought together some of the North’s most brilliant artists and organisations to represent the arts in conversations about the future of the North, alongside policy and decision-makers.

For the fourth digital annual People’s Powerhouse Convention — ‘This Is the North‘ – we produced ‘We Are the North‘ — a creative response to the 2020 convention’s themes: justice, fairness and resilience. Over two days, we worked closely with artists to engage audiences in creative workshops, talks and activities which addressed issues facing the North and the social role of the arts in supporting communities to recovery, heal and grow back stronger.
